To encourage development of future professionals in the fields of public history and historic preservation, the California Council for the Promotion of History (CCPH) is offering up to eight conference stipends to public history students and new public history professionals (in the field fewer than three years).  The stipends are funded by CCPH and through a grant from the California Office of Historic Preservation.

The 2012 CCPH Conference, California on the Move, will be held in Woodland October 18th-20th, 2012.

Stipends include paid conference registration fees, one year free CCPH membership, paid attendance at the annual awards luncheon, and up to $350.  Priority will be given to applicants who present papers at the conference.  Stipend recipients must donate at least 4 hours during the conference.

To apply for a CCPH conference stipend, send a one-page letter describing your education and work experience and how you expect to benefit from attending the conference.  Be sure to include you contact information (mailing address, phone number, and email address) and send it to stipends@ccphhistoryaction.org
. Please put CCPH Stipend Coordinator in the subject line.  Your application must be received by Friday, September 14, 2012
